Binance Alpha vs pump.fun: where a pump.fun coin shows up first
Updated 3 October 2026 · by AtroX · Belphor Research · the data behind this guide
A Solana memecoin launched on pump.fun appears there at creation; Binance Alpha comes later, if at all, as a list Binance selects from tokens already trading. Of the 46 Solana tokens on Binance's public Alpha list that pump.fun's own pages show as launched on pump.fun, the median reached Alpha 44 days after creation, by Belphor's count on 3 October 2026.
- pump.fun is where a coin is created; Binance Alpha is a list Binance selects, with no user suggestions (Binance FAQ, as of October 2026).
- Binance's public Alpha list held 682 tokens on 3 October 2026, 70 of them on Solana and 46 of those launched on pump.fun.
- The median pump.fun token on the list reached Alpha 44 days after creation; 5 did so within a week.
- Alpha inclusion does not guarantee a Binance Spot listing. Some entries on the public Alpha list are already exchange-listed; Binance says withdrawal of an Alpha purchase through the exchange requires a Spot listing.
Two different things
pump.fun is a launchpad. A coin is created there, for 0 SOL as of October 2026, and trades on its bonding curve from the first second; how pump.fun works covers the machine. Binance Alpha is a list. Binance's launch announcement (17 December 2024) calls it a platform within Binance Wallet that spotlights early-stage projects and a pre-listing token selection pool, and its disclaimer says Alpha features assets that are not listed on the Binance Exchange, generally with a low market capitalisation, although some entries on its public list are also exchange-listed. Binance's FAQ adds that a token on Alpha is not an endorsement by Binance, and that Alpha tokens bought through the exchange cannot be withdrawn to another wallet unless the token is listed on Binance Spot.

How a token gets onto Binance Alpha
Binance's FAQ says tokens are selected through its industry expertise and insights, spotlighting those with strong community interest, growing traction and alignment with trends, and that it currently does not accept token suggestions from users. Binance also removes tokens: a review it announced on 12 March 2025 named the criteria, from trading-volume stability, liquidity depth, on-chain transaction frequency and holder distribution to team credibility and compliance, and said tokens that fail them are removed. A second route opened in July 2025: a bonding-curve token generation event inside Binance Wallet, paid in BNB, after which the project's token is admitted to Alpha.
Which comes first, measured
A pump.fun coin exists on pump.fun from the moment it is created, so the only measurable question is how long the coins that reach Alpha take to get there. Belphor read Binance's public Alpha token list on 3 October 2026 and opened pump.fun's own page for each of its 70 Solana tokens. pump.fun's pages show 46 of them as launched on pump.fun; the others were launched elsewhere, the PUMP token among them.
| Measure | Value |
|---|---|
| Solana tokens on the list | 70 |
| Launched on pump.fun, per pump.fun's coin pages | 46 |
| Median time from pump.fun creation to Alpha | 44 days |
| Reached Alpha within 7 days of creation | 5 |
| Reached Alpha within 30 days | 17 |
| Added to Alpha in 2024, 2025 and 2026 | 17, 28 and 1 |
| Still online on Alpha on 3 October 2026 | 14 |
| Flagged on the list as also listed on Binance's exchange | 5 |
A Belphor count, not a Binance or pump.fun statement: the list is a public data endpoint on binance.com, and each launch was read from the token's pump.fun page. Both change; this is a dated snapshot.
The pattern is weeks, not minutes. The median pump.fun token on the list reached Alpha 44 days after it was created; Fartcoin, created on pump.fun on 18 October 2024, was on Alpha on 18 December 2024, the day after Alpha launched. Only one pump.fun token on the list was added in 2026. Many of the pump.fun-origin tokens in this selected list reached Alpha weeks after creation, but some arrived within a week. On average they are a different population from a fresh pump.fun launch.
Why that difference matters
Age changes the base rate. As of 3 October 2026, 82% of the 7,230 memecoin ignitions Belphor recorded on pools under an hour old were down 80% or more at their latest reading, against 2.5% for pools older than a day: the death rate by pool age. And of pump.fun coins that graduate, most fall: 90% of 8,590 migrations were down 80% or more at their latest reading. Alpha's selection mostly starts from coins that have lasted weeks. That is not a forecast for any Alpha token, and Binance's own warnings say so: Alpha tokens may carry higher than normal risk and price volatility, a buyer may lose all or part of what was invested, and a July 2025 warning asked users to be cautious of tokens showing concentrated ownership.
pump.fun's own token on Binance
PUMP is distinct from tokens created through the pump.fun launchpad. Its exchange-listing history is omitted here until the primary announcement can be linked reliably. pump.fun's page for the PUMP token shows it as launched outside the launchpad.

Frequently asked
Do new Solana coins appear on Binance Alpha or pump.fun first?
A coin launched on pump.fun appears there at creation. Binance Alpha selects tokens that already trade on-chain: of the 46 Solana tokens on Binance's public Alpha list that were launched on pump.fun, the median reached Alpha 44 days after creation, by Belphor's count on 3 October 2026.
How does a token get onto Binance Alpha?
Binance selects it. Binance's FAQ says tokens are chosen through its industry expertise and insights, spotlighting strong community interest and growing traction, and that it does not accept token suggestions from users. Binance also reviews Alpha tokens and removes those that fail its criteria.
Is a Binance Alpha token listed on Binance?
Not necessarily. Alpha inclusion does not guarantee a Binance Spot listing, but some entries on the public Alpha list are also exchange-listed. Check the token's current listing status. Its FAQ adds that Alpha tokens bought through the exchange cannot be withdrawn unless the token is listed on Binance Spot.
