Bundled launches and snipers: what they are and how they show up

Updated 4 October 2026 · by AtroX · Belphor Research · the data behind this guide

A bundled launch is one actor funding many wallets to buy a coin at its creation, so a supply that one party controls looks spread across many holders; a sniper is a wallet, usually a bot, that buys in the first few blocks after trading opens. As of October 2026, GMGN and Axiom document sniper and bundle fields for a token, and DEX Screener's pair page shows a holder list without either label. Belphor's record does not yet separate bundled launches, so this page carries no rate.

Key takeaways

What a bundled launch is

On Solana, Jito's documentation describes a bundle as a list of up to five transactions that execute in order, within the same slot, and all together or not at all. A launch can be bundled that way: the coin's creation and a set of buys from fresh wallets land together, before anyone else can trade. Many wallets buying in the first block has the same effect without a formal bundle. Either way, a supply one party controls is spread over many addresses, so the top-holders list looks wider than the real ownership, and that party can sell from all of them into the first buyers. It is the slow rug described in anatomy of a rug pull, prepared at the launch.

What a sniper is

GMGN's documentation defines snipers as buyers who purchased within the first few blocks after trading opened. Axiom's documentation describes its Snipers % filter as the share held by early buyers and says a high share may indicate bot activity. A sniper is not necessarily tied to the creator: sniping is why a new coin can see a large buy and a large sell within seconds of its creation, before any person has looked at it. How such bots work, and what they hold, is in how crypto trading bots work and Telegram trading bots explained.

How either shows up on a holder list

Signs of a bundled or sniped launch, and where to read them
SignWhat to look atWhere it can be read
Top holders that bought at creationThe first buys in the coin's transaction list, and whether those wallets are still among the top holdersGMGN's first 70 buyers view; any explorer's transaction list
Buys in the same blockSeveral buys sharing the creation's slot or the slot after itAn explorer's transaction list; DEX Screener's transaction list shows each trade's maker
Fresh walletsWallets whose first activity is shortly before the launchAn explorer's account history
One funding sourceWallets funded from the same address shortly before they boughtAn explorer's account history
Early holdings sold or movedEarly buyers that sold part, sold all or transferred their tokensGMGN's holding status for each of the first 70 buyers

None of these is proof on its own: a popular launch also draws many fast buyers. They are the questions a holder list can answer before a buy, alongside the checks in how to research a memecoin.

What the public tools show, as of October 2026

Holder fields on three public tools, as of October 2026
ToolFields documented or shownWhat its page adds
DEX ScreenerOn a pump.fun pair page read on 4 October 2026: a Holders tab (rank, share of supply, amount, value, transactions), Top Traders, KOLs, a map view and a transaction list with each trade's maker; no bundle or sniper label on that pageIts documentation lists unique makers and holders among the inputs of its trending score
GMGNSnipers, the first 70 buyers with each one's holding status, the top 10 holders' share, an insider holding ratio and scammer-wallet tagsIts documentation says these holding statuses cannot guarantee real-time accuracy
AxiomPulse filters for top 10 holders %, dev holding %, snipers %, insiders %, bundle % and holdersIts documentation describes bundle % as the share of supply held in bundle wallets, without saying how a bundle wallet is identified

Each tool decides for itself which wallet counts as a sniper or a bundle wallet, and none of the pages read for this guide publishes its rule in full, so the same coin can show different shares on different tools. How the two chart tools compare more widely is in DEX Screener vs DEXTools for Solana.

How much bundled supply is too much?

None of the three tools' pages read for this guide gives a threshold. Axiom's documentation says a lower top 10 share indicates more decentralization, and GMGN's says a higher ratio of wallets holding without having bought is more concerning; neither puts a number on it. A share is a reading, not a verdict: what decides the risk is whether the wallets behind it can sell into the buyers who come after, which the funding trail and the holding status show.

Why this page carries no rate

Belphor's record does not yet separate bundled launches, so this page carries no rate. Belphor's takeover score uses holder distribution among its inputs, but no Belphor table counts how many launches were bundled or what happened to them afterwards. The tables Belphor does publish, each with its sample size and window, are on the data pages.

Belphor data

Belphor publishes measured outcomes for takeovers, migrations and ignitions with their sample sizes, windows and missing readings on the data pages; none of them separates bundled launches yet. In the Academy: anatomy of a rug pull and how to research a memecoin.

Frequently asked

What is a bundled launch on pump.fun?

A launch where one actor funds many wallets that buy the coin at its creation, often together in one block, so the supply looks spread across holders while one party controls it. Jito's documentation describes a bundle as up to five transactions that execute in order, in one slot, all or nothing.

What is a sniper in memecoins?

A wallet, usually a bot, that buys within the first few blocks after trading opens, which is how GMGN's documentation defines it. Axiom's Pulse filters tokens by the share of supply snipers hold and says a high share may indicate bot activity.

What percentage bundle is too much?

No tool page read for this guide, as of October 2026, states a threshold, and Belphor publishes no bundle rate. A share is a reading, not a verdict: check who funded the wallets behind it and whether they still hold.
