DEX Screener vs DEXTools for Solana
Updated 3 October 2026 · by AtroX · Belphor Research · the data behind this guide
As of October 2026, DEX Screener and DEXTools are both free chart tools that read Solana directly from the chain. DEX Screener earns from token teams, with Enhanced Token Info from $299 and boosts its documentation says raise a token's Trending Score; DEXTools sells premium tiers paid in its DEXT token, from 1,000 DEXT held or $19.90 a month. On 3 October 2026, the cited PumpkinCat curve page on DEX Screener showed progress and market cap without a liquidity figure, one observation rather than a rule.
- Both are free and read the chain themselves (each company's own pages, as of October 2026).
- DEX Screener's trending score rises with paid boosts and verified token info, by its own documentation; DEXTools sells NITRO packs for its Tokens Race board.
- Both now offer trading: DEX Screener's pair page shows a 0.5% platform fee, DEXTools swaps through KyberSwap and offers Solana wallets.
- On 3 October 2026, the cited PumpkinCat curve page on DEX Screener showed progress and market cap without a liquidity figure. This is one observation, not a rule for every curve page.
The two side by side
Every cell comes from the company's own pages, read on 3 October 2026. The last row describes one bonding-curve coin opened on DEX Screener on 3 October 2026; it shows what that page displayed, not a policy.
| DEX Screener | DEXTools | |
|---|---|---|
| Data source | Its own indexer reading the blockchains directly, without external APIs | Data pulled directly from the blockchain in real time |
| How a token appears | Automatically, once it is in a liquidity pool with at least one transaction | DEXTools does not list tokens; it reads them from the chain |
| Price to use | Free | Free; Standard at 1,000 DEXT held or $19.90 a month in DEXT; Premium at 100,000 DEXT held |
| Paid products for token teams | Enhanced Token Info from $299; boosts; advertising | Tokens Race NITRO packs from $199 for 200 points to $3,999 for 5,000, each a 24-hour boost; token info updates |
| Trading | A buy and sell panel on the pair page stating a 0.5% platform fee | Swaps through a KyberSwap integration; Solana wallets inside a DEXTools account with market, limit and take-profit or stop-loss orders |
| Safety data | An audit panel from third-party auditors, with a warning that audits may not be fully accurate | DEXTscore, an automated rating from 0 to 99, with a warning that no automated score detects off-chain rug intent |
| Free API | Rate-limited, 60 requests a minute on its profile and boost endpoints | DEXTools' API plans are published inside its developer portal, which needs a signed-in browser; this guide does not quote them. |
| A pump.fun coin on its curve | Listed under Pump.fun with a progress percentage and market cap, and no liquidity figure | Not compared on this page |
Sources for each cell are listed at the end of this page. DEXTools' own pages give different network counts (79 in the app's footer, 124 to 139 on information pages), so no count is printed here.
Where they agree
Both read the chain themselves and both are free to use. Both show price, market cap, transactions, volume and a chart for every Solana pair, and both carry an automated safety panel that says, in its own words, not to rely on it alone. How to read DexScreener sets out the ninety-second read in order, and the same order works on DEXTools.
Where they differ
The business model differs. DEX Screener sells to token teams: Enhanced Token Info from $299, advertising, and boost packs. Its trending documentation names the inputs to a token's Trending Score (volume, liquidity, transactions, unique makers, holders, visitors and reactions) and says verified token info earns a boost, especially Enhanced Token Info, and its boosting page says a boost pack temporarily raises the score. DEXTools sells to traders through tiers paid in its DEXT token, and to token teams through NITRO packs that raise a token's score on its Tokens Race board. Paid products can affect DEX Screener's Trending Score and DEXTools' Tokens Race score. Those are specific ranking systems, and a purchase does not establish organic demand or guarantee a place on every trending list. That is stated on their own pages and is worth knowing before reading a trending list as a crowd.
The trading features differ too. DEX Screener's pair page carried a buy and sell panel stating a 0.5% platform fee on 3 October 2026. DEXTools routes swaps through KyberSwap and, on Solana, offers wallets inside a DEXTools account with resting orders and a Telegram trading bot, with withdrawals behind 2FA and a whitelist. Both combine data with execution features. Compare the displayed data, quoted route and fees separately.
The bonding-curve misread
A pump.fun coin on its bonding curve has no pool. Its market is a formula and a reserve of SOL, explained in what is a bonding curve. On 3 October 2026, the cited PumpkinCat curve page on DEX Screener showed progress and market cap without a liquidity figure, and its pump.fun list had no liquidity column. This is one observation, not a rule for every curve page.
The misread happens in both directions. A reader, or a script, that treats DEX Screener's missing liquidity as zero throws away every young pump.fun coin as dust. A reader who treats any dollar liquidity figure shown for a curve coin as pool depth assumes a market that does not exist yet: the curve can be sold into only along its formula, and graduation replaces it with a real pool. The safe reading is the same on any chart site: on a pump.fun pair that has not graduated, judge the coin by curve progress, market cap and the size of the trade against the reserve.
What pool age shows in Belphor's record
Belphor's ignition record differs sharply by pool age. It does not compare the predictive value of pool age with chart-based analysis. As of 3 October 2026, 82% of the 7,230 memecoin ignitions Belphor recorded on pools under an hour old were down 80% or more at their latest reading, the full table in the death rate by pool age.
How often do Solana memecoin momentum signals survive? Death rate and hit rate by pool age, by volume acceleration and by score, recomputed daily. In the Academy: the death rate by pool age and how to read DexScreener.
Frequently asked
Is DEX Screener or DEXTools free?
Both are free to browse as of October 2026. DEX Screener sells token-side products such as Enhanced Token Info from $299 and boosts that raise a token's Trending Score. DEXTools sells premium tiers paid in its DEXT token: Standard at 1,000 DEXT held or $19.90 a month in DEXT, and Premium at 100,000 DEXT held.
Why does a pump.fun coin show no liquidity on DEX Screener?
Because a coin still on pump.fun's bonding curve has no pool. On 3 October 2026 DEX Screener's pump.fun pages showed the curve's progress and market cap and no liquidity figure; the coin's market is the curve's reserve, which a pool-based liquidity number does not describe.
Does paying for a boost make a token trend?
On DEX Screener it raises the score that trending ranks by: its documentation says a boost temporarily increases a token's Trending Score and verified token info adds to it, while its boosting terms say a boost does not ensure a token will trend. DEXTools sells NITRO packs that raise a token's score on its Tokens Race board.

Belphor records pump.fun takeovers on-chain, scores each signal 0 to 100 and publishes measured outcomes with their sample sizes, windows and missing readings. Reflex Bot is coming soon and priced separately. It is a signal and discipline layer with a published record, not a trading terminal.
