Axiom vs Photon for Solana memecoins

Updated 3 October 2026 · by AtroX · Belphor Research · the data behind this guide

As of October 2026, Axiom and Photon both state a 1% base fee on every buy and sell, and Axiom returns part of it as tier cashback for a net 0.95% to 0.75%, according to each tool's documentation. Photon documents more resting orders on Solana, including stop loss, take profit and DCA; Axiom documents more beyond spot, including perpetuals on Hyperliquid, staking and a wallet tracker. Both generate the trading wallet: Axiom shows a seed phrase, Photon reveals a private key once.

Key takeaways

The two side by side

Every cell comes from the tool's own documentation, read on 3 October 2026. Where a feature is not described, the cell says what is described instead; a missing line is not a claim that the feature does not exist.

Fees

Both start at 1% of each buy and sell. Axiom's fee page lists seven tiers by trading volume, from Wood (0.95% net, 0.05% back) to Champion (0.75% net, 0.25% back), and its referral page gives users who sign up through a referral link 10% off. Photon's Solana fee page states 1% of the SOL used, with a worked example of 0.05 SOL on a 5 SOL buy, and no tier or referral reduction. As of October 2026, Axiom lists a 0.95% net fee per side at Wood and 0.75% at Champion, before any applicable referral reduction. Photon lists 1% per side. Round-trip costs also depend on the sell proceeds, venue fees, network fees and execution prices.

Execution settings

Both expose the same three levers a Solana trade needs: a priority fee, a bribe paid to Jito validators, and a slippage limit. Axiom offers three MEV modes, Off, Reduced and Secure, where Secure waits for a whitelisted validator, and can calculate the priority fee and bribe itself. Photon's Fast and Secure modes send a transaction straight to Jito below a bribe of 0.001 SOL (0.002 SOL in Secure) and to its partner bloXroute above it, and its Auto Speed setting adjusts both fees from recent successful transactions. Photon keeps three trading profiles; Axiom offers fee presets. What these settings change, and what slippage costs, is in slippage and price impact.

Orders

Photon's documentation describes the wider set of resting orders on Solana: buy the dip, stop loss and take profit, triggered by market cap and expiring after 24, 48 or 72 hours per Photon's DCA page; its limit-order page prints 28 for the middle value, so check the app. It also describes DCA orders and auto-buy and auto-sell presets. A stop loss and a take profit placed together at 100% cancel each other when one fills. Axiom's spot documentation describes limit buy and sell orders at a set price, buying the moment a coin migrates from pump.fun and selling at migration, and one-click instant trades with hotkeys; take-profit and stop-loss settings appear in its documentation for perpetuals. Why an exit decided in advance matters is covered in stop losses for memecoins.

Wallets and keys

Both generate the wallet a trader funds. Axiom shows a seed phrase at sign-up and keeps it viewable in settings, so the wallet can be restored in Phantom or another wallet, and its FAQ describes its infrastructure as non-custodial with key management through Turnkey. Photon asks the trader to log in with Phantom, then generates a separate trading wallet whose private key it reveals once; up to five can be active at a time. A generated wallet is a trading float, not a vault: Solana wallet safety for traders sets out the structure.

Breadth

Axiom's documentation covers more than spot trading: perpetual futures through Hyperliquid at up to 50x leverage with a 0.01% Axiom fee per transaction, SOL staking, a wallet tracker, an X monitor after a documented 5 SOL of trading volume, and a trader scan. Photon's covers Memescope for pump.fun and Moonshot coins, a trending page, live pairs and a token page with its security data. Most of Photon's Solana documentation pages carry 2024 update dates, against 2025 and 2026 for most of Axiom's, so features added since may not be described.

What neither is

Both are execution and market-data tools. Belphor is not a terminal: it is a signal and discipline layer that detects pump.fun takeovers on-chain, scores each one 0 to 100 and publishes measured outcomes with their sample sizes, windows and missing readings. The four-way comparison with GMGN and BullX is in GMGN, Axiom, Photon and BullX compared.

Frequently asked

Is Axiom cheaper than Photon?

As of October 2026, both state a 1% base fee on each buy and sell. Axiom returns part of it as SOL cashback by tier, a net 0.95% at its entry tier to 0.75% at its top tier, and gives referred users 10% off. Photon's documentation states no reduction on Solana.

Which has stop-loss orders, Axiom or Photon?

Photon's documentation describes stop-loss and take-profit orders on Solana, and a pair of them at 100% cancels the other when one fills. Axiom's documentation describes limit buy and sell orders on spot, and take-profit and stop-loss settings for its perpetuals.

Do Axiom and Photon hold my keys?

Axiom generates the wallet, shows its seed phrase and describes its infrastructure as non-custodial with keys managed through Turnkey. Photon generates a separate trading wallet and reveals its private key once. In both, the generated wallet is where trading funds sit.

The signal, and what it did next

Belphor records pump.fun takeovers on-chain, scores each signal 0 to 100 and publishes measured outcomes with their sample sizes, windows and missing readings. Reflex Bot is coming soon and priced separately. It is a signal and discipline layer with a published record, not a trading terminal.
