pump.fun creator fees, cashback and the fee split
Updated 3 October 2026 · by AtroX · Belphor Research · the data behind this guide
As of October 2026, a regular pump.fun coin's creator-fee component is 0.30% of every bonding-curve buy and sell; holder-reward coins and legacy cashback coins redirect that component, which is part of a total fee of 1.25%; the protocol takes the other 0.95%. After graduation the creator's share of the PumpSwap pool fee follows a market-cap table, from 0.95% at 420 to 1,470 SOL of market cap down to 0.05% above 98,240 SOL, according to pump.fun's fee page, last updated 20 May 2026.
- On the bonding curve every trade pays 1.25%: a 0.30% creator-fee component (paid to the creator on a regular coin) and 0.95% to the protocol (pump.fun, as of October 2026).
- On PumpSwap the creator's share depends on market cap: 0.30% under 420 SOL, 0.95% from 420 to 1,470 SOL, falling to 0.05% above 98,240 SOL.
- Cashback is deprecated for new coins; holder rewards coins, which pay the creator fee to holders, took its place.
- A community takeover moves control of the creator fee to a new team, which is the on-chain event Belphor detects.
The split on the bonding curve
As of October 2026, pump.fun's fee page (last updated 20 May 2026) prints one table for every coin on the bonding curve, SOL and USDC coins alike. The fee is charged on every trade, buys and sells.
| Share | Rate |
|---|---|
| Creator fee | 0.300% |
| Protocol fee | 0.95% |
| LP fee | 0% |
| Total | 1.25% |
Source: pump.fun/docs/fees, read 3 October 2026. The page also says that some mobile users may pay up to 0.1% more on certain transactions, an amount that can go to the creator, to the fee owner after a takeover, or back to the user or a referrer.
The creator fee applies to every coin that was on the bonding curve or on PumpSwap from 13 May 2025. Creating a coin costs 0 SOL. Coins that migrated to Raydium before pump.fun moved graduations to PumpSwap earn no creator fee, because pump.fun's developer documentation says that program is not under its control.
After graduation: the PumpSwap tiers
A graduated coin trades in its canonical PumpSwap pool, the pool created at migration. There the fee depends on the coin's market cap, which pump.fun calculates as the token price multiplied by one billion tokens. The creator's share is highest just after the first tier and falls as the market cap grows. The table shows selected rows of the SOL schedule; the fee page prints all 25 rows and a matching USDC schedule.
| Market cap | Creator | Protocol | LP | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 to 420 SOL | 0.300% | 0.930% | 0.020% | 1.250% |
| 420 to 1,470 SOL | 0.950% | 0.050% | 0.200% | 1.200% |
| 1,470 to 2,460 SOL | 0.900% | 0.050% | 0.200% | 1.150% |
| 4,420 to 9,820 SOL | 0.750% | 0.050% | 0.200% | 1.000% |
| 9,820 to 14,740 SOL | 0.700% | 0.050% | 0.200% | 0.950% |
| 29,470 to 34,380 SOL | 0.500% | 0.050% | 0.200% | 0.750% |
| 49,120 to 54,030 SOL | 0.300% | 0.050% | 0.200% | 0.550% |
| 98,240 SOL and up | 0.050% | 0.050% | 0.200% | 0.300% |
Every other PumpSwap pool is non-canonical, and pump.fun's page sets the creator fee there at 0%: 0.05% protocol and 0.25% LP, 0.3% in total.
A worked example in SOL
The arithmetic below applies the published rates to round numbers. It is an illustration of the split, not a record of any coin.
| Case | Volume | Total fee | To the creator | To the protocol | To liquidity providers |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| One 1 SOL buy on the curve | 1 SOL | 0.0125 SOL | 0.003 SOL | 0.0095 SOL | 0 SOL |
| A day of trading on the curve | 100 SOL | 1.25 SOL | 0.30 SOL | 0.95 SOL | 0 SOL |
| A day on PumpSwap at 1,000 SOL market cap | 100 SOL | 1.20 SOL | 0.95 SOL | 0.05 SOL | 0.20 SOL |
| A day on PumpSwap at 10,000 SOL market cap | 100 SOL | 0.95 SOL | 0.70 SOL | 0.05 SOL | 0.20 SOL |
Two things follow. A coin's creator earns more per SOL traded in the PumpSwap tiers just above 420 SOL of market cap than on the curve, 0.95% against 0.30%. And a trader pays the whole total twice on a round trip: 2.5% on the curve before slippage, priority fees or any bot's cut, which every fee a pump.fun trade pays adds up line by line.
How a creator collects
Creator fees accrue in two vaults, one for the bonding curve and one for PumpSwap, and pump.fun's developer documentation describes the sweep instruction for each as permissionless: anyone can trigger the payout to the creator's wallet. A creator can also split the fee among several wallets. The documented sharing setup starts with the creator at 100%, allows at most ten shareholders, and the final list can be set only once.
Cashback, and what replaced it
Cashback coins sent the creator fee to the traders instead of the creator, as cashback on each trader's own volume, claimable later. As of October 2026, pump.fun's developer documentation says cashback mode is deprecated: no new cashback coins can be created, existing cashback coins trade as before, and cashback already earned stays claimable.
The new option is the holder rewards coin. Its creator fee is set aside for the people who hold the coin and paid out by pump.fun, with nothing for the creator to claim and no claim step for holders. A coin is chosen as one or the other at creation, a regular coin can be converted through a community takeover, and a holder rewards coin can never go back to being a regular coin.
Creator fees and community takeovers
The creator fee is what a pump.fun community takeover changes hands over. Section 4.6 of pump.fun's terms (last updated 25 September 2026) describes a takeover as control over the creator fees and certain admin rights passing from the original deployer to a team the community chooses, at pump.fun's sole discretion. On-chain, the takeover is an instruction that changes the recorded creator, which is why it can be detected the second it lands: what is a CTO covers the event and how CTO detection works covers the instruction pump.fun introduced on 12 September 2026.
What a takeover does to the price is measured, not assumed. As of 3 October 2026, 53% of the 352 pump.fun takeovers Belphor detected in the previous 90 days reached +50% at some point after detection; the full table is in how often a pump.fun takeover reaches +50%.

Frequently asked
How much does a pump.fun creator earn per trade?
As of October 2026, on a regular coin, 0.30% of every buy and sell on the bonding curve, out of a total fee of 1.25%; holder-reward and legacy cashback coins redirect that share. After graduation the creator's share of the PumpSwap pool fee follows a market-cap table: 0.30% under 420 SOL of market cap, 0.95% from 420 to 1,470 SOL, then lower step by step to 0.05% above 98,240 SOL.
Does pump.fun still offer cashback?
Not on new coins. pump.fun's developer documentation says cashback mode is deprecated and no new cashback coins can be created. Existing cashback coins still route the creator fee to traders as cashback, and cashback already earned stays claimable. Holder rewards coins, which pay the creator fee to holders, are the new option.
What happens to creator fees in a community takeover?
pump.fun's terms describe a takeover as control over the creator fees and certain admin rights passing from the original deployer to a team the community chooses, at pump.fun's discretion. The fees can be re-routed to the new team, and a takeover can also convert a coin into a holder rewards coin, which cannot be reversed.
